Description: |
This series of models was designed to illustrate the space curves generated by the rolling of cones on cones. In this model one of the "cones" is a circular plate whose conical angle is 180 degrees. The space curves are represented by bronze wire. One path is generated by a point on the rolling plate while the other space path is generated by a point normal to the plate indicated in the model with an arrow. |
