| F06. Davies Spherical Engine
This is a model of a spherical steam engine invented by Davies in 1826. The outer part of the model consists of glass sections of a spherical surface. Inside there is a disc rotating on a cone and a transverse plate dividing inside volume into four chambers. In this movie the spherical surface, the cone, and the transverse plate are rotating and the disc is fixed. Movie F06a is a close-up of this motion.
