Description:
This is an intermittent gearing wheel pair once used as a counting mechanism in clocks as evidenced by the twelve position rotating hand. Continuous motion of the right hand wheel produces intermittent or digital motion of the left hand wheel. The lever at the bottom locks the digital wheel until the continuous motion wheel releases it and advances the clock hand wheel.
