This twin crank screw mechanism allows the disc between the pedestals to move to the right or left depending on the position of the shift gear wheels. Inside the hollow shaft is a long-screwed shaft. Beyond the reference to cylindrical drilling in the model title, Reuleaux does not describe this mechanism in his two major books.
