This mechanism uses a rotating link whose end joints slide in two crossed prismatic guides. Double slider-crank mechanisms can be used to convert rotary motion into straight-line motion as well as produce an elliptical motion as in the ellipsograph of Leonardo da Vinci (See model D10 in the Cornell Reuleaux Collection. |
