Description:
This model is similar to K-1 and is an example of a four-link kinematic chain in which two of the links, ‘a’ and ‘c’, slide in linear slots or guides, ‘b’ and ‘d’. Also for links ‘b’ and ‘d’, the axes of rotation and sliding are perpendicular but do not intersect. For this property, Reuleaux used the term “double crossed”. In this model, the link ‘a’ is fixed and the linear guide link ’b’ moves back and forth. Models K-1, K-2 differ from models D-8, D-9, D-10 in the fact that the angle between the slide guides changes with the motion of the links. The two circular bosses on link ‘c’ permits one to fix this link on the holder stand H-1 and obtain another inversion of this kinematic chain.
