Description:
This mechanism is a three dimensional pump in contrast to the other 2D or planar models in the Voigt I series. The double screw action is perhaps a forerunner of turbine type machines. This machine was first patented in France in 1830; it will be noted that while the screws are of necessity, equal pitch, they are of opposite "hand" and a liquid or fluid will be forced axially along the screws as they rotate together. It was used in ventilators.
