[Editor’s Note: This type of conveyor can be used for both fluid and solid material including granular material such as food grains. This screw mechanism is similar to the Archimedes screw of Model 126. An enclosed screw pump for food grains was used by the American inventor Oliver Evans in his design for an automated grain mill around the end of the 18th century. FCM]
