Description:
These stands were designed by Reuleaux to demonstrate the inversions of certain mechanisms. For example, in the four bar mechanism C1, the linkage can be detached from the small stand. The linkage can then be clamped to H1 or H2 fixing any of the four linkages. Thus the same set of linkages can be used for to produce four different motions depending on which one is fixed. Each different mechanism is called an inversion of the basic four links.
