Description:
This is a positive return cam mechanism that converts rotary crank motion into linear oscillating motion. The linear motion has two pauses in its cycle created by the circular arc sections of the cam. Such deadtime or dwell motions are sometimes used in engine valve mechanisms or in manufacturing processes. Positve return mechanism kinematic models can be found in the Reuleaux-Voigt models, L01 to L06. One of the most famous positive return mechanisms with dwell is the curved triangle cam shown in Reuleaux-Voigt L01, L02.
