Description:
Like the Geneva mechanism in Model N8, this mechanism converts continuous rotary motion of the left wheel into discontinuous or intermittent motion of the right wheel. This mechanism can be used as a digital counting device. The driving left-hand wheel has seven pin teeth perpendicular to the driven or digital wheel. The latter has 14 smaller teeth and two sliding or locking “teeth”. One revolution of the driving wheel produces a half turn of the follower wheel. The perfect mating of the bell-shaped cam on the driver wheel permits uninterrupted motion of the driver and locks the “counting” wheel.
