Description:
In this model, the horizontal platform is maintained approximately parallel as the upper lever arm is rotated. Such mechanisms were used in weighing mechanisms. In this model, the mass to be weighed is placed on the platform and the comparison weight added to the free link on the left side of the upper lever. In this linkage, there are seven joints and six links, including the ground, or fixed, link. According to the classic mobility criteria, this compound linkage has one true degree of freedom unlike the mechanism of T-6 and 10, which are overconstrained.
