Model: D14 Annular Slider-Crank Mechanism

In this model, Reuleaux sought to demonstrate the topological relation between the four-bar linkage of model C-1 and the slider-crank C-2. In Model D-14, the straight, linear guide of model C-1 is replaced by a circular annulus and the slider is a sector of an annular cylinder. The resulting motion is identical to that of a four-bar linkage in which one of the links is replaced by a circular annulus of radius equal to the length of the “ghost” link.
